# What is DEF Fluid?

## DEF Fluid is required for diesel.

When transporting diesel engine vehicles, it is necessary to have a safe level of DEF fluid to avoid costly engine damage. DEF fluid is an eligible expense. Receipts must be uploaded in the Draiver App.

**Where is my DEF Tank Filler?**

For medium and heavy-duty trucks, buses, and machinery the diesel exhaust tank is usually positioned next to the diesel tank. In older vehicles, it may be located somewhere in the passenger space, trunk, or inside the engine compartment. 

**Can DEF Fluid Be Expensed?**

DEF fluid is an eligible expense. Receipts must be uploaded in the Draiver App.
