What Qualifies as a CDL Unit?

CDL vehicles weigh over 26,001 lbs and are over 26.1 feet in length.

Non-CDL vehicles can range from regular cars, vans, and box trucks from 12 to 26 feet. If the unit is one pound over 26,000 lbs it becomes a CDL unit. Same for the length of the truck. Up to 26 feet, any regular licensed driver can drive. If it is one inch over 26 feet it becomes a CDL unit.
